The newly formed coalition was borne out of collaborative work between a number of Gypsy & Traveller community members and advocacy organisations who were concerned about the effect of the Police Act. The coalition works to publicise issues that affect the Gypsy and Traveller community, such as accommodation, inequalities, discrimination and racism. It hopes to become a community led platform that will support Gypsies and Travellers to raise the issues important to them and get listened to!
Members so far include Gypsies & Travellers Wales, Travelling Ahead, Travellers Against Racism, Gypsy, Roma Traveller Social Workers’ Association, Race Alliance Wales, Shelter Cymru and Tai Pawb. The coalition will be hitting the road this year and touring at community events to sign people up to become members.
