At Gypsies and Travellers Wales we are non-judgmental and empathetic in our working approach. We understand the issues and barriers the Gypsy and Traveller Community face and how this can be detrimental to the wellbeing of our clients. Our aim is to improve support to the community and help to change attitudes within the community to remove the stigma surrounding mental health. All our staff at Gypsies and Travellers Wales have experience in working with people with mental health issues.

At Gypsies and Travellers Wales we believe we all play a role in supporting our clients and each other. Mental health plays a vital role in all that we do and how we view ourselves. Gypsies and Travellers Wales believe having good mental health is at the core of thriving communities. We have an open door policy for our community, we are proud to be able to support and signpost our clients to get the right help and support networks put in place.

Anyone can experience mental health problems and 1 in 4 of us will encounter a mental health illness at one point in our lives. Speaking out about your own mental health is a sign of strength and courage. We want to actively encourage our clients to reach out to us or friends and family and have that initial conversation which is the first step to getting the right help and support.
