Advice, Advocacy and Support

Cardiff Council fund Gypsies and Travellers Wales to provide support to the Gypsy and Traveller community. Our service helps support our clients who are in need of support to access public services. They can assesses benefit entitlement with clients which can lead to complex cases which are sometimes taken to tribunal, they supports our clients through this process.

Many Gypsies and Travellers are unaware of the support they can receive from public services such as welfare benefits, education and health. We are regularly updated with benefit and policy changes to be able to give up to date and correct information to support our clients. We also works closely with public services and other organisations to ensure they have the information and cultural sensitivity they need to give a better service to Gypsy and Traveller clients.
