Nik brings with him a wealth of experience supporting individuals in his local community and has truly hit the ground running in his role at GT Wales.
Nik is passionate about working within the Gypsy and Traveller communities in West Wales, describing them as “some of the most friendly and welcoming people I’ve met.” His day-to-day support covers everything from CV writing, benefit applications, and job hunting to grant applications, tech issues, and even driver theory practice, always stepping in wherever help is needed.
He values the connections he’s building, often enjoying “hundreds of teas and chats” with community members during site visits.
Recently, Nik supported the process of getting the summer Horse Fair up and running (his first experience of such an event) and felt proud to see the community showcase their culture in such a positive way.
Looking ahead, Nik is partnering with local residents to organise a new drop-in in Pembrokeshire, where tea, advice, and plenty of conversations will be on offer. His dedication, energy, and ability to connect with people are already making a big difference.
We’re delighted to celebrate Nik as our Team Member of the Month and thank him for his commitment, warmth, and drive to support and uplift the communities he works with.
